Sunday 21st June saw Southern Area Hospice host the live Semi Final of Hospice X Factor 2009. 

The Canal Court was lit up with a host of stars from counties Armagh, Down, Tyrone and Monaghan, with all 18 contestants competing for one of 10 places in the grand final on Friday 17th July again in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.

Celebrity compere for the night John Daly kept the audience entertained throughout the evening while lending moral support to the shows performers, in between links to the Green Room with anchor Stevy P who said, “There is a great atmosphere up here, a definite mix of nerves and excitement. At times you could cut the tension with a knife!”

Declan Legge, Catherine Grimley, Rozlyn Sheridan and Shane McBreen all had the unenviable task of judging each of the acts, all of whom performed like stars and looked like stars, with thanks to Gifted Hair and Beauty, Meigh. Fundraising Office, Rachel Quinn said, “We have been overwhelmed with both talent and support for he community. Going by the craic and atmosphere had by all at the Semi Final, we are very excited about the Live Final Show on the 17th July – it promises to be a great night!”

The finalists have been decided. Its now up to you to chose the one act you think has the X Factor. You can only cast your vote for your favourite act by being at the Live Final Show.
