Where does one have to go to buy a simple pair of shoelaces. Now I don't want a new pair of shoes, just the laces  thanks very much. On a mission I set out on Friday to get my laces but some things are more complicated than others. Of course I went to the obvious place at first, yes a shoe shop. The Show Zone in Hill Street just couldn't get their head round the fact that I thought they might sell laces though - "Haven't sold a pair in years" they told me. I suppose I could have got a cheap pair of shoes but it seemed a bit extravagant just for the strings. Next stop the pound shop - "Why certainly, they're over there" ..... but I don't want 13 Pairs of Shoelaces even if they are just a pound. What would I do with the other 12, In fact can one person go through 13 pairs of laces in a lifetime? and no don't suggest a use for the leftovers for me. My search continues, perhaps a Butchers shop could help... |
